You're probably wondering, why the switch? Before sharing why Raider Promise will look different, we would like to give a BIG thank you to everyone whose attended Raider Promise in previous! Your generosity has directly supported Raider Catholics' capacity to serve the students who enter through the doors of the John Saleh Catholic Student Center. For the past 8 years or so, Raider Promise has been a formal, fundraising banquet with testimonies, a sit down meal with choices of Salmon or Prime Rib, a Silent Auction, & opportunities to connect with Raider Catholic students. We've heard testimonies from Raider Catholic alumni, long-time donors, St. Elizabeth parishioners, parents of students, & Raider Catholic students, both undergraduate & graduate students.
Raider Catholic serves a wide array of students at all points of their college careers. One way that Raider Catholic students truly blossoms is in Hospitality. At the heart of Hospitality is Joy. Joy that only comes from deeply knowing Jesus Christ & inviting Him to be in the driver's seat. Upon further reflection, Joy is at the heart of the Mission of Raider Catholic. So, JOY will be our main focus for Raider Promise this year.
Grab your dancin' boots & step into the shoes of a Raider Catholic student for an evening. This event is still a fundraiser for Raider Catholic. But it's also an opportunity for you to experience the Student Center on a regular Friday night with a delicious Fajita dinner from Picantes. Different interactive games and line dancing will be led by Raider Catholic students. Rather than sitting down for a majority of the evening, there will be interactive games, such as ping pong or corn hole, available all evening. And since you are asking the question, YES, ping pong & corn hole are Raider Catholic staples among the students! More Raider Catholic students will be in attendance than in previous years because they are the heart of this ministry. In lieu of a formal Silent Auction, we will be raffling off 3 different baskets (yes - you can select the basket which you'd like to add your raffle ticket(s)!). Instead of hearing 3 witness testimonies, only 1 testimony will be shared. This will give more time for fun & games.
Embrace your child-like nature & come spend an evening at the John Saleh Catholic Student Center. Tickets are now available for purchase below. We cannot wait to see YOU at Raider Promise on September 12, 2025!
