Catholic Press Association is piloting a new awards program aimed to foster and recognize talented students and their institutions, and to create awareness of Catholic journalism among college students.
Each winning entry is critiqued by the judge, is acknowledged at the Catholic Media Conference, and is published in the June issue of the association’s monthly publication The Catholic Journalist. After the contest, all winning entries are posted and viewable in our contest photo gallery. Award announcements take place in mid-April and Award Certificates are mailed to each winner shortly thereafter.
The Student Award program for 2016 will be a beta test, and we encourage participation among eligible students and professors. Following the close of the program we welcome your feedback.
There will be five award categories: Writing, Online Multimedia,Graphic Art or Photograph (Single), Catholicism and Video Journalism. The five category descriptions, entry parameters and directions for entry submission are included in the CPA Student Award packet.
CPA will begin accepting submissions beginning Monday, January 4, 2016. The submission deadline is 11:59 pm CT, Friday, February 5, 2016.
