The
Diocesan Youth Retreat Team (DYRT) - and we pronounce it "dirt" - is a ministry that focuses on preparing and administering retreats for the youth of the Diocese of Lubbock in the preparation for the Confirmation of their Catholic faith. Our staffers receive leadership opportunities, spiritual growth, and friendships founded on a relationship with God. At retreats, the youth are able to see that love for God reflected among the staffers. They also learn about His love and their rich Catholic faith through talks, activities, skits, discussions, and reflections led by the staffers.
Since the Spring of 2004, this ministry has successfully planned and staffed 76 retreats as well as four diocesan youth rallies, and has evangelized to thousands of youth in the Diocese of Lubbock.
We cannot wait to get to know you and to share with you our passion for Christ. There is no better feeling in the world than seeing the faces of the youth at a DYRT retreat and knowing that they are having a blast while learning about our faith.
If you are interested in joining DYRT, meetings are 8 p.m. every Monday in the basement of the Catholic Student Center located on Broadway and Ave. W.
